New Media Project - Tritium Flow

New Media Project - Tritium Flow

We raise people and the country by drip water gathering into a flow and the diversion of rivers and seas around mountains and rivers. The character "Chuan" was originally one of the sources of life, but after adding the character "Qi," it became part of the pollution.

It is well known that tritium is a major component of nuclear wastewater. What would be the impact of dumping nuclear wastewater into the Pacific Ocean? Based on this starting point, we interactively combine a chessboard with the visual mapping of nuclear pollution, with the intention of exploring the relationship between pollution and gaming war.

There are few new media chess productions on Chinese domestic platforms, mainly using a more "national" style of chess, like Go as an entry point, supplemented by stage, dance, and other elements to become a more comprehensive form of performance. One of the reasons is that, first of all, it is always traditional Chinese chess that is more intimate than traditional Western chess; the other is that chess has its natural system and ecology, and it is difficult to make a completely revolutionary innovation and breakthrough if it is not based on its existing context. The main reason for our group to choose chess is its own symbols of "country" and "war," which have a certain degree of operability when they go hand in hand with the theme of "nuclear radiation" that we want to do. It has a certain degree of operability. Due to the lack of experience, we were not able to perfect this interactive installation to its fullest and most beautiful state, but it does not mean that this project is not enough to be extended in the future - whether to deepen it visually into an interactive chess visual feast, or to extend it into a new media immersive interactive game space, it is something that can be explored and realized in the future. It can be further explored and realized.
